Mark: Faith in Action

Easter Sonrise (April 1) – Resurrection of Christ

Scripture Reading: Mark 16:1-8

At the end of the dark days is always the brightest days of the Glory of the Lord.  There is the new life that Christ raises up in us that overcomes the darkness in the old life that we must kill.  Where the light shines darkness is driven out and there is no longer absence of light but instead true life comes forth.  Faith in Action is the new life in Christ putting to death the old life of the world.

Easter (April 1) – Appearances of Christ

Scripture Reading: Mark 16:9-20

As we see by Christ’s appearances, faith in action is not just about the new life it brings to us but it is to be about sharing with others that new life.  Whether it is one to one, one to two while walking on the road, or one to eleven while they are eating together, it is about sharing the new life.  Faith in Action means to “Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation.”  Amen.
